Home Appliance Repair Dubai: Not Cooling or Draining?

These four faults make up most calls for home appliance repair in Dubai. Here is the likely cause, what you can safely check first, and when it needs us.

My fridge stopped cooling, who should I call?

Check the plug, the temperature dial and that food is not blocking the air vents. Still warm after an hour? Call a refrigerator technician, not a handyman. The cause is usually a dusty condenser, a failed fan or a faulty start relay, and less often the compressor.

Walk me through fixing a noisy washing machine

Just moved home? Check the transit bolts at the back were removed. Then level the feet, spread the load and check the drum for coins or hair grips. A rumble during spin that gets louder each week points to worn drum bearings, a job for us.

How do I fix a dishwasher that won't drain?

Twist out the bottom filter, rinse off food and scale, and check the drain hose under the sink is not kinked. If water still sits in the base, the drain pump is blocked or failing. Bosch and Siemens show this as E24 or E25.

Why is my dryer running but not heating?

Usually a failed heating element, thermostat or thermal fuse, often tripped by a blocked lint filter or vent. We test each part, replace only what failed, and clear the airflow so it does not happen again next month.

What happens if the part is not in the van?

We confirm the fault on the first visit, orders the exact part for your model and tells you when it will arrive. We book the return visit with you, and the job is only complete once the part is fitted and tested in front of you.

Fridge Warm Before Iftar or Washer Full of Water?

We answer every day, including Fridays and public holidays, and confirm your slot on the call.

Reliable or a Scam? Honest Answers Before You Book

Locals worry about prices that change, parts that are not new and warranties that vanish. These are the three questions behind those worries.

TRUST

Is appliance repair in Dubai actually reliable or a scam?

Most technicians are honest, but watch for payment into a personal account, a price that rises after the visit, pressure to take your appliance away and unnamed used parts. We agree the price before work, repair at home wherever possible and put the warranty in writing.

DECISION

Should I repair or replace my appliance?

Repair usually wins when one part has failed and the rest is sound, especially for built in units where replacing means new cabinetry. Replace when faults keep returning or the main part costs close to a new machine. We tell you which side you are on before any work.

TIMING

How long does a repair take?

Most washer, dishwasher and dryer repairs take 45 to 90 minutes once we arrive, and fridges up to 2 hours. If a part has to be ordered, such as a compressor or control board, we finish on a second visit at a time that suits you.

Heat, Shamal Dust, Hard Water: Why Appliances Fail Faster

What our technicians find inside local homes, season after season, and the simple habits that stop it happening to yours.

40°C Storerooms and Balconies

From June to September, storerooms and balcony laundry areas stay well above 40°C. Fridge compressors run almost nonstop and dryers overheat until the thermal fuse trips. A struggling fridge also shows on your DEWA bill.

Prevent it: leave 10 cm behind the fridge and keep it out of direct sun.

Marina, JBR and Palm Humidity

Homes near the water see mould on washer door seals, rust on dryer drums and extra condensation inside fridges.

Prevent it: leave the washer door open after use and wipe the seal weekly.

Shamal Sandstorm Dust

Fine sand carried by shamal winds coats fridge condenser coils and dryer vents. Blocked airflow makes both machines work harder and fail sooner.

Prevent it: vacuum the coils every 3 months and clear the lint filter every load.

Hard Desalinated Water

Minerals in tap water build up on heating elements, spray arms and inlet valves. The result: cloudy glasses, slow heating and weak water flow.

Prevent it: keep dishwasher salt topped up and run a descaling cycle monthly.

Back From the Summer Holiday

Homes sit empty for weeks in July and August. Closed washers and switched off fridges grow mould, and water left in pumps goes stale. A dead washer after a month away is one of our most common calls.

Prevent it: empty and dry the fridge, prop its door open, and run an empty hot wash before you fly.

Stacked Units in Closed Cupboards

Apartment washers and dryers often sit stacked in small closed cupboards with no airflow. Trapped heat shortens the life of dryer motors and heat pump condensers.

Prevent it: keep the cupboard door open while the dryer runs.

Six Habits Behind Most of Our Call Outs

Avoid these and most appliances last years longer.

  • Regular detergent in a front loaderToo much foam triggers error codes and leaks.
  • Overloading the drumHeavy bedding wears bearings and shock absorbers.
  • Never cleaning filtersPump, dishwasher and lint filters clog quietly.
  • Fridge pushed flat to the wallNo airflow means the compressor overheats.
  • Ignoring a new noiseA small bearing fault becomes a drum replacement.
  • DIY on sealed or electrical partsRefrigerant and control board work needs training.

From One Van to 1000+ Homes: 16 Years, Four Appliances

Too many repairs start with a vague phone quote and end with a surprise bill. The Fixerman has always worked the other way round: diagnose first, explain the fault in plain words, agree the cost, then repair.

  • Started small: a two person team with one van, fixing washing machines for neighbours.
  • Stayed focused: as we grew, we kept to four appliances instead of adding AC and TV.
  • Trained properly: every team member is background checked and shadows a senior technician for weeks before working alone.

The Agent, an Independent or a Handyman: Who Should Fix It?

Independent repair guys vs big companies in Dubai, who wins?

Neither wins every time. While your appliance is under manufacturer warranty, the brand's authorized agent is the right call. After that, an independent specialist usually reaches you sooner and repairs any brand. A general handyman suits installs, not faults.

What Tenants and Villa Owners Ask Us

Answers to the questions we hear on almost every call.

Washer and dryer combo unit ready for repair
01Do you offer same day appliance repair?

Yes. Call us and we usually reach your home within 2 hours. Most repairs are finished on that first visit, in 45 to 90 minutes.

02Who pays for appliance repairs in a rental?

It depends on your tenancy contract. Normal wear is often the landlord's responsibility, while damage from misuse usually falls on the tenant. We give you a written diagnosis report to share with your landlord or property manager.

03Do you work on Fridays, Eid and other public holidays?

Yes. We work every day, including Fridays, weekends and public holidays, so a broken fridge during Ramadan or Eid does not have to wait.

04Do you repair at home or take it to a workshop?

We repair at home wherever possible. If a fault needs workshop tools, we explain why first, and there is no pickup fee.

05Do I need to be home during the repair?

Yes. Someone over 18 needs to be at home to let us in and approve the repair before work starts.

06What does the 30 day warranty cover?

It covers the repair we carried out. If the same fault returns within 30 days, we come back and fix it at no extra charge.

07Do you use genuine parts or second hand ones?

We use genuine or manufacturer approved parts, never unnamed used ones, and we tell you which type before fitting it.

08My appliance is still under warranty. Should I call you or the agent?

Call the brand's authorized agent first so your warranty stays valid. Once it has expired, we can take over.

09Can you repair built in and stacked appliances?

Yes. We repair integrated dishwashers, built in fridges and stacked washer dryer units, including removing and refitting kitchen panels without damage.

10What do LG OE, Samsung 5C and Bosch E18 mean?

All three point to a drain fault, usually a blocked filter or pump. LG IE and Samsung 4C mean no water is coming in. Clean the filter and check the tap first, and if the code returns, call us with it.
