Why We Only Do Four Things
The Fixerman started as a two person repair team working out of a small van, fixing washing machines for neighbors in Dubai. Sixteen years later, the approach hasn't changed: show up on time, explain the problem in plain language, and fix it properly the first time.
Somewhere along the way, we made a deliberate choice most repair companies don't. Instead of adding air conditioning, ovens, and electronics every year to chase more business, we narrowed our focus to four appliances. That means our technicians aren't generalists learning on the job, they're specialists who've opened hundreds of washing machines, fridges, dishwashers, and dryers, and know exactly what tends to fail and why.
We've grown slowly and on purpose, adding technicians only once we could train them properly, not just to cover more calls. That's still how we hire today.
Every new technician spends weeks shadowing an experienced one before they visit a home alone, learning not just how to replace a part, but how to explain what went wrong in a way that actually makes sense to the person standing next to them. We'd rather grow a year slower than send someone out who isn't ready.
We Diagnose First, Then Quote
Some repair companies suggest a part replacement before properly checking the appliance, or charge a separate fee just to pick it up and take it away. We built our process to avoid both, and it shows in how a visit actually runs.
